FAQ – Using Your Limitless Pendant with Omi

Omi lets you use your Limitless Pendant with the Omi app to capture conversations and turn them into searchable memories, summaries, and tasks. Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions.

1. How do I connect my Limitless Pendant to the Omi app?

  1. Install the Omi app

  2. Forget the pendant from Bluetooth (if needed)

    • On your phone, open Bluetooth settings.

    • Find the old Limitless Pendant entry and Forget / Remove it.

  3. Factory reset the pendant

  4. Connect inside Omi

    • Open the Omi app.

    • Tap “Connect” at the top-left of the screen.

    • Select your pendant from the list and confirm the connection.


2. How do I import my Limitless data into Omi?

  1. Export your data from Limitless (text-only)

  2. Import into Omi

    • Open the Omi app.

    • Go to Profile → Import Data.

    • Select the Limitless ZIP file.

    • Start the import and wait for the completion notification.



3. What are the current limitations and known issues?

For now, when using a Limitless Pendant with Omi:

  • No offline recording yet

    • The pendant streams audio live to your phone.

    • If the phone disconnects, it stops recording (no local storage yet).

  • App must stay open

    • Keep the Omi app open (background).

    • Force-closing the app stops streaming.

    • You can turn your phone screen off while recording.

  • Button and light

    • The button does not perform actions yet in Omi.

    • You cannot dim or disable the light; it stays on.

  • Bluetooth behavior

    • You often need to forget the pendant from system Bluetooth first.

    • Pair it through the Omi app, not only through system settings.

  • Data import is text-only

    • Omi imports transcripts only, not audio files (for now).

Features like offline recording and button actions are planned for future updates.



4. Troubleshooting

Pendant Won’t Connect

  • Make sure Bluetooth is ON and your phone is very close to the pendant.

  • Confirm the pendant shows a solid blue light (ready to pair).

  • On your phone, go to Bluetooth settings and Forget/Remove the pendant.

  • Do a hardware factory reset on the pendant (see “How do I factory reset the pendant from the button?”).

  • Reboot your phone, open the Omi app, tap “Connect” (top-left), and select the pendant from the list.


Pendant Keeps Disconnecting

  • Keep your phone within a few feet of the pendant — it’s streaming audio live, not syncing offline (yet).

  • Do not force close the Omi app; keep it open in the foreground or running in the background.

  • On Android, turn off aggressive battery optimization for Omi (don’t “optimize” or “restrict” it).

  • Make sure the pendant is only paired to one phone at a time.


Pendant Not Recording

  • Check that the pendant is connected inside the Omi app (not only in system Bluetooth).

  • Confirm Omi shows that it’s recording (e.g., active session at the top of the screen).

  • Make sure the app has microphone permission enabled in your phone’s settings.

  • If nothing records even after reconnecting, restart your phone and try again.


Pendant Stops Recording

  • If recordings stop in the middle of a conversation, your OS may be killing the app.

  • Avoid closing Omi from the app switcher; keep it open or pinned.

  • Disable extreme battery saver / low power modes that may suspend background apps.

  • Re-open Omi, confirm the pendant is still connected, and start a new recording session.


Mixed Languages in transcriptions

  • Omi supports many languages, but English is the most stable and accurate.

  • Set your account language to your main language: in the app, tap the three dots (top left) → Personal settings → choose your language → Save.

  • If you speak multiple languages in the same conversation, it’s normal for transcripts to mix them. You can always use translation/summarization apps inside Omi to clean things up later.



5. How do I get support?

The fastest way to get help is through the official Omi community:

  1. Join the official Omi Discord

  2. Go to the #help channel

    • Once inside, open the HELP channel and describe your issue.

    • Include:

      • Your phone model and OS version

      • Your Omi app version (stable or beta)

      • That you’re using a Limitless Pendant

      • What’s happening (won’t connect, keeps disconnecting, not recording, etc.)

      • What you’ve already tried (forget Bluetooth, factory reset, reinstall, etc.)



6. How do I factory reset the pendant from the button?

Use this hardware factory reset if you can’t reset it from the app.

  1. Clear any red light first

    • If the pendant shows a solid red light (while not plugged in),
      hold the button for 10+ seconds until the red light turns off.

  2. Do a fast double-press

    • You’re going to press the button twice in quick succession:

      • First: press and release (a quick tap).

      • Second: immediately press and hold (very little pause between the two).

  3. Watch for the purple light

    • Keep holding after the second press.

    • A purple light will appear — keep holding.

  4. Release when purple disappears

    • When the purple light goes away, release the button.

  5. Look for solid blue

    • The light should turn solid blue.

    • This means the pendant has been factory reset and is ready to pair with Omi.

  6. If you see red again

    • If you see a solid red light (and the pendant is not plugged in),
      the double-press was too slow.

    • Hold the button until the red light disappears, then start again from step 1.
