What Omi is and what it does

Omi is your personal AI that listens to your real-life conversations, remembers them, and turns them into actions.

It captures what you say and hear throughout the day, transcribes it, and then helps you with things like:

  • Meeting and call summaries

  • Tasks and reminders

  • Searchable “memories” of what was said and decided

Think of it as a second brain that lives across your phone, Mac, and compatible wearables.

How Omi works: app, devices, apps, conversations, tasks, memories

  • Omi App (mobile + desktop)

    • Install the Omi app on iOS or Android to capture and review your conversations.

    • Use the Mac app to record meetings and access the same memories, summaries, tasks, and chat from your computer.

  • Devices (Omi hardware + third-party wearables)

    • You can pair Omi with official devices like the Omi, Omi DevKit, or Omi Glass for hands-free capture.

    • Omi also supports selected third-party wearables (like Plaud, Limitless Pendant, Bee and Friend) through integrations, so audio from those devices flows into the Omi app.

  • Conversations → memories → tasks

    • When you speak, Omi transcribes your conversation in real time.

    • Each recording is stored as a conversation in your account.

    • Omi’s AI turns that into:

      • Summaries

      • Key points and decisions

      • Tasks and reminders

    • All of this is saved as memories you can search by people, topics, or phrases later.

  • Apps (Omi Apps / marketplace)

    • Inside Omi, you can install apps that run on top of your conversations and memories.

    • Some apps focus on daily recaps, others on productivity, coaching, exports, or integrations with external tools.

    • You choose which apps process your data, and you can enable/disable them at any time.

Using Omi with or without hardware

  • Using Omi without hardware

    • You can start with just the Omi app on your phone or Mac.

    • Record directly from the device’s microphone (for calls, meetings, personal notes, etc.).

    • You still get transcriptions, summaries, memories, tasks, and AI chat. No wearable required.

  • Using Omi with hardware

    • If you have an Omi device or a supported third-party wearable, you can pair it to the app.

    • The wearable captures audio hands-free, while Omi handles transcription, memory, and tasks automatically in the background.

This is ideal if you’re in conversations all day and don’t want to think about pressing “record” on your phone.
