Now that you know what you have, pick how you want to start using Omi. Each path will take you to a different setup guide tuned to your situation.
Start with the Omi app only
Choose this if you don’t have any hardware yet or just want to try Omi as a pure app.
You’ll install Omi on your phone and/or Mac.
You’ll record directly from the device’s microphone (meetings, calls, personal notes, etc.).
You still get transcripts, summaries, memories, tasks and AI chat — no wearable required.
Best if you want to test Omi first or mainly use it for work calls and online meetings.
Start with Omi Device (necklace)
Choose this if you have the standard Omi wearable necklace (consumer device).
You’ll pair the device to the Omi app on your phone.
The necklace captures audio hands-free while Omi turns it into memories, summaries and tasks.
You’ll learn how to power it on, understand the lights, update firmware and manage settings.
Best if you want a simple, everyday “second brain” you can wear all day.
Start with Omi Glass Dev Kit
Choose this if you have an Omi Glass developer / early-access unit.
You’ll set up Omi Glass with the Omi app and your developer tools.
You’ll learn how to capture first-person audio (and visual context, where supported) and stream it into Omi.
This path focuses on experiments, prototypes and building apps on top of Omi Glass.
Best if you’re testing Omi Glass as a developer or part of a pilot program.
Start with Omi Dev Kit
Choose this if you have an Omi Dev Kit (DevKit 1 or DevKit 2) instead of the consumer device.
You’ll flash or update firmware, then connect the Dev Kit to the Omi app.
You’ll use it to stream audio, test features, and build or debug Omi Apps.
This path assumes you’re comfortable with developer tools, cables and firmware instructions.
Best if you’re a builder, hacker or developer working directly with Omi hardware.
Start with a third-party device + Omi
Choose this if your main device is not branded Omi, for example:
Limitless Pendant
Friend pendant
Plaud Note / Plaud Pin
Bee or other Bluetooth AI recorder
In this path:
You’ll connect your third-party device to your phone (following that device’s own instructions).
Then you’ll configure Omi so that audio from that device flows into the Omi app.
Omi becomes the brain layer: transcribing, summarizing, creating tasks and storing memories from what your device records.
Best if you already own a non-Omi wearable and want to keep using it while letting Omi handle all the AI and memory.
