Which device do I have?
Before you follow a setup guide, first confirm what you’re using with Omi.
Use the descriptions below to match your hardware (or lack of hardware).
Official Omi wearable AI device, sold simply as “Omi”.
Necklace-style pendant you wear around your neck.
Pairs directly with the Omi app for live transcription, memories, summaries and tasks.
If you bought the main consumer Omi device from the Omi store, this is what you have.
Smart glasses with Omi built in.
Looks and feels like regular glasses, but with camera, microphones and side controls
Used for first-person capture (what you see and hear) plus Omi’s AI features.
If you’re wearing glasses as your “device”, choose this option.
Developer-focused version of the Omi wearable.
Also necklace-style, but sold as DevKit (often labeled Omi DevKit or DevKit 2 in docs and store).
Used mainly for testing, firmware experiments and building apps on top of Omi.
If you bought or received your device as a “dev kit”, from a hackathon, open-source project or DIY build, this is your category.
Omi app only (no hardware)
You installed the Omi app on iOS, Android or Mac, but don’t use any wearable.
Omi works just from your phone/desktop: you can record, chat with your AI, review memories and run apps without a device.
Choose this if you have no physical hardware connected to Omi.
Third-party devices (Limitless Pendant, Friend, Plaud Note/Pin, Bee, etc.)
Your main device is not branded Omi; it’s a wearable from another company.
Examples: Limitless Pendant, Friend pendant, Plaud Note/Pin, Bee bracelet, or other Bluetooth AI recorders.
Omi connects to these devices through its “works with every device” integrations, using them as audio sources while Omi app handles transcription, memories and apps.
If you primarily use another brand’s wearable and just want Omi as the brain/software layer, select this option.
