Create account and sign in
Start here if this is your very first time with Omi.
Download the app on your phone from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
Open the app and follow the sign-up flow shown on screen (read our terms, provide app permissions, create an account with your email/password, choose your name and other options offered there).
Once your account is created, sign in with the same login on every device where you use Omi (phone, Mac, etc.), so all your conversations and memories stay in sync.
First 10 minutes with Omi – quick checklist
In your first 10 minutes, aim to get to one successful conversation + one summary:
Install and sign in to the Omi app on your phone.
Allow permissions when prompted.
If you have hardware, pair your device from inside the Omi app (device guide will cover details).
On the Home screen, start a short recording (30–60 seconds of you talking, or a real conversation).
Stop talking and give Omi a bit of time to process and create a Conversation.
Check if your first Conversation is there with a summary.
Open Tasks and Memories to see what Omi extracted automatically. It turns action items from your conversations into tasks, and saves important information about you as memories.
Open Apps and pick one app to enable (for example, something that improves your summaries or integrates with Google Drive).
First conversations
Your first goal is to see how Omi turns real speech into a Conversation.
With no hardware:
Open the Omi app and start a recording from the phone.
Speak naturally for a minute or two (e.g., recap your day or talk through a problem).
With Omi device or other wearable connected:
Make sure the device is paired and connected in the app.
Talk as you normally would; the device sends audio into Omi while you stay hands-free.
After you stop talking, Omi will detect silence, close the recording and bundle it into a Conversation with a summary and key points. You can also manually stop the recording directly in the app.
First tasks
Tasks are Omi’s way of turning what you said into action.
After your first Conversation is processed, go to the Tasks section.
You’ll typically see tasks created automatically from what you said (deadlines, follow-ups, “remind me to…”, “create a task …” style items, etc.).
Open a task to see or edit details or due date.
Check that tasks reflect what you actually want to do; complete or edit a couple so you get used to managing them.
You can also create tasks manually at any time by tapping the + icon in the Tasks view to add items the way you want.
First memories
Memories are how Omi stores relevant information about you for later search and reuse. They are used as context in your AI chats and in the summaries Omi generates for you.
Once your first Conversations are created, open the Memories section.
You’ll see Memories created from those Conversations, with each memory linked to what was said — tap the chat bubble icon to jump to the original conversation.
Memories are created automatically only when Omi detects information that’s personally relevant, like your preferences, habits, work, and relationships.
You can also create or edit memories manually from the Memories view whenever you want to add important context.
Tap a memory to:
Read the full memory.
Edit or delete it.
Try a simple search (e.g., a person’s name or a topic you mentioned) to see how quickly you can jump back to a moment.
You can also narrow them down by using the filter options to quickly find specific memories.
First chats
Chat is where you talk with Omi transcriptions and memories.
Tap the Chat button at Home screen.
Type a simple question like:
“What did I talk about in my last conversation?”
“Summarize my last meeting in 3 bullet points.”
“Three days ago I talked to someone about a laptop model. Which model was it?”
Ask Omi to use your Conversations or memory, so you see how it pulls from your real data.
Try one “future” question, like:
“Turn my last tasks into a simple plan for tomorrow.”
Read this to see how Omi Chat works and how to get better results from it.
You can switch the chat engine by tapping the selector at the top and, for example, choosing to chat with a specific app.
First apps
Apps are community-built tools that give Omi extra powers, helping you get more out of your conversations, memories, and chats.
Browse a few apps and read what they do (for example: actions, better summaries, daily recaps, integrations, coaching, etc.).
Read app details to understand how to use them.
Pick one app to start with and enable it for your account.
After your next Conversation or Chat, check how that app changed the output:
Did it add a new type of summary?
Did it create extra insights or tasks?
