Omi app is where everything comes together: recordings from your devices, conversations, AI summaries, memories, tasks and apps. It runs on iOS, Android and macOS.
Main areas
Home – Your starting point. From here you can see your conversations, start a new recording or open start chats with AI.
Tasks – All action items Omi extracted from your conversations plus tasks you create manually.
Memories – Facts Omi saves about you (people, preferences, projects, places) so you can search and use them later in chat.
Apps – The Omi Apps Marketplace, where you install integrations, chat tools and memory apps.
Settings – Account, devices, language, speech profile, imports, task integrations, developer options and more.
How to talk to Omi
With Omi device:
Connect it to your Omi app and it will start feeding recordings into Omi, turning them into conversations, memories, and tasks.
To talk to it, tap and hold the device while you speak. Release when you’re done. Omi will send reply to your app’s chat with a notification.
With phone only: start a recording from the app and talk into your phone’s mic.
On Mac: use the desktop app and record using the Mac’s microphone.
You can always type in chat if you prefer text.
Example prompts
“ How’s weather today?”
“Summarize my last meeting with John and list the action items.”
“What did we discuss about the marketing budget yesterday?”
“What are the main tasks for this week?”
“Search my memories for anything related to ‘X’ and show the key points.”
Using Omi in different languages
You choose your account language in Personal settings; transcripts and summaries follow that choice.
If you mix languages in the same conversation, it’s normal to see mixed-language transcripts.
To change language: open the app → menu / personal settings → choose your language → save.
Choose what works best for you: single language, or simultaneous multi-language support.
Improving recognition: Speech Profile basics
Speech Profile teaches Omi what your voice sounds like so it can better separate you from other people and improve transcription quality.
To set your Speech Profile, go to Settings (gear icon at home screen) → Profile → Speech Profile.
In the Speech Profile flow, you’ll be asked to read a few short phrases on screen. These samples help Omi adapt to your accent, tone, and speaking style.
You can create different Speech profiles for people you talk to. This makes it easier for Omi to recognize who is speaking.
Finally, it’s important to know: speaker diarization (telling who spoke what in a conversation) is a very hard problem today for any service or app, not just Omi. No system is perfectly accurate yet. Our team is constantly working to improve how Omi identifies and separates speakers over time.
