Conversations aren’t being transcribed

  1. Check that recording actually started

    • Confirm if it's connected to the device, if it shows the recording indicator

    • Confirm if transcripts are displaying on the Home Screen

  2. Wait for the Conversation to be created

    • Omi waits for silence (a timeout) before finalizing and transcribing the Conversation.

    • Conversations can take a while to process; please allow a few moments.

  3. Check language settings

    • Omi supports many languages, so make sure the app language matches the one you're speaking.

    • E.g. If you set it to Spanish and speak English, it may not transcribe.

    • If you require multilingual support, make sure to enable it in Settings -> Profile.

  4. Check internet connection

    • Transcription relies on cloud services; make sure the phone is online.

    • You can record while offline, but transcriptions will start once you connect.

If transcripts remain empty for all new recordings, contact Support.

Language / translation problems

  1. Supported languages

    • Omi supports multiple languages for transcription (English, Portuguese, Spanish, etc.). You set this in Settings → Profile.

  2. Single vs multi-language

    • You can either pick one main language (Omi only listens in that language) or turn on multi-language. It'll listen to several languages you speak so Omi can understand any of them.

    • Set your preferences for single or multi-language on Settings → Profile.

  3. If you see mixed or wrong language output

    • Be sure to set it on Settings → Profile if you only want one language. Omi will only understands the language you just set, but you won't see mixed languages anymore.

    • Omi may accidentally mix languages when using the multi-language setting. Make sure you speak clearly so that it can accurately interpret the languages.

    • As multilingual transcription technology advances, it will get better over time.

An Omi App isn’t working as expected

Omi Apps can analyze conversations, work with memories and connect to external services.

If one of them misbehaves:

  1. Check the app description

    • See what the app promises to do and how it should be triggered (e.g., in a chat, in a conversation, etc.).

  2. Check requirements / integrations

    • Certain apps connect with third-part plataforms like Gmail, Notion and Zapier, require account linking or specific permissions. Make sure to provide it.

    • If they do not work, try disabling and then re-enabling the permissions or connection.

    • Remove the app, reinstall it from the Omi App Store, and test with a new Conversation or Memory.

If the app still doesn’t behave as documented, send details and examples to the app developer or Omi Support.

Tasks not being created or not syncing

  1. Check automatic tasks

    • Omi can extract tasks from Conversations; if you only see summaries, try restarting the connection with your device.

  2. Manual tasks

    • Create a task manually in the app to confirm the Tasks view itself works.

  3. External tools (Google Tasks, Todoist, etc.)

    • If you use integrations, make sure those connections are configured and enabled in Settings.

If tasks appear in Omi but do not sync to your external tools, or never appear at all, send screenshots of your Settings and a sample Conversation to Support.
