What’s in the Omi Glass box
If you ordered a pre-built Omi Glass Dev Kit, you’ll get omiGlass already assembled plus a USB cable (and possibly a case or accessories).
If you’re building it yourself, you’ll use a XIAO ESP32 S3 Sense board, multiple small batteries, wires, hinges and a 3D-printed frame, as described in the build guide.
Charge and power on for the first time
Connect omiGlass to a USB power source (computer or USB charger) using the included cable.
This powers the XIAO board and charges the batteries at the same time.
Once powered, the board will boot the firmware automatically.
Pair Omi Glass with the Omi app
Install the Omi AI app on your phone and sign in with your account.
Make sure omiGlass is powered on and close to your phone.
Open the Omi app, tap Connect in the top-left corner, and follow the on-screen steps to link your device.
After pairing, audio and image/video from omiGlass can be sent into Omi and show up as Conversations, summaries and memories.
Update Omi Glass firmware
omiGlass Dev Kit firmware is flashed from your computer, not from the Omi mobile app.
The basic flow is:
Open the omiGlass firmware folder from the official repository.
Load the main .ino file in Arduino IDE (or follow the arduino-cli instructions).
Install the ESP32 board package, then select XIAO_ESP32S3 as the board and the correct USB port.
Set PSRAM to the recommended option and click Upload to flash the firmware to the board.
