If you want to go beyond the default Omi experience — build apps, integrate your tools, or even work with the hardware itself — the place to start is the official documentation: docs.omi.me

That is the home for everything technical and “power user” related.

Here’s what you’ll find there (and where to look), without going into deep detail here.

Get Started

In Get Started, you’ll find:

  • Introduction – how Omi works at a high level

  • Device Setup – getting your Omi, DevKit or Glass up and running

  • Chat Tips & Best Practices – how to talk to Omi and get better results

Use this section if you’re new to Omi or setting up a device for the first time. Check it out now: docs.omi.me.

Developer

The Developer section is your hub if you want to extend or integrate Omi:

  • App Setup – how to set up a development environment for Omi Apps

  • Backend – running your own backend to handle webhooks and app logic

  • Firmware – compiling and flashing firmware for Omi devices

  • SDK – using SDKs to talk to Omi programmatically

  • App–Device Protocol – how apps and devices communicate

  • Contribution Guide – how to contribute back to the project

  • APIs & Integrations – HTTP APIs, webhooks and connections to other tools

  • Audio & Testing – audio flows, testing tools and diagnostics

If you’re a developer or a heavy automation user, this is where you’ll live. Check it out at docs.omi.me.

Build Apps

The Build Apps section explains how to create your own Omi Apps:

  • Building Apps for Omi – overall architecture and concepts

  • Prompt-Based Apps – apps that are driven purely by prompts

  • Integration Apps – apps that connect Omi to external services

  • Chat Tools – custom tools you can call directly from chat

There are also Examples, including:

  • Real-Time Audio Streaming

  • Data Import APIs

  • OAuth Authentication

  • Sending Notifications

  • Publish Your App – how to get your app into the Omi App Store

Check this section if you want to build or publish apps other people can use. Check it out at docs.omi.me.

Hardware

In Hardware, you’ll find docs for each device:

  • Omi

  • Omi DevKit 2

  • Omi DevKit 1

  • omiGlass DevKit

This section is for anyone working directly with Omi hardware (standard devices or dev kits). Check it out at docs.omi.me.

DIY Guide

The DIY Guide is for people who want to build their own Omi-based device:

  • Build Your Own Omi Device

  • Parts List

  • Building the Device

  • Update Omi Firmware

If you like soldering, assembling and hacking hardware, this is your part of the docs. Check it out at docs.omi.me.

Info

Finally, the Info section covers:

  • Support – where to get help

  • License – how the project is licensed

  • Disclaimer

  • Privacy Policy

Check it out now: docs.omi.me.

If you’re a power user or developer, the best next step is simple:

Open docs.omi.me, choose the area that matches what you want to do (Get Started, Developer, Build Apps, Hardware or DIY), and follow the guides from there.
